Yup the patch is awesome, but I give you advice, as soon as you install the patch, turn down the shadows if you have a weak gfx card or you'll get extreme lag; they're extremely detailed now even in Medium quality.

A question.

If I install GTA IV now, will I need to install all the patches for the PC version till date ? Or just this 'GTA IV Patch 6' ?

OK, I need a more layman newbie answer, I gamed the previous GTAs on PC, but the magnitude of the GTA4 series is such that I only used the two consoles. You can download the games and other things with LIVE, or you can stay offline and buy the DVDs. I bought them and I normally play them offline, so what do I need to know this being my case? Are the patches added already to the store released discs??

Useful patch, but my framerate dropped by up to 14 FPS in some cases. I'm using 1.0.5 again, works better for me.

No. The retail version is at 1.0.0.0

I went straight from 1.0.4 to 1.0.6 and didn't really notice much of a difference, but it certainly wasn't any worse. I don't play much anyway so doesn't bother me :)
